Silicon Bronze Bush

Silicon bronze is a low-lead brass alloy that is generally composed of 96 percent copper. The remainder can be made from silicon and a variety of other alloys such as manganese, tin, iron, or zinc. Silicon Bronze is known for its easy pouring ability, appealing surface finish and superior corrosion resistant properties, even when submerged in liquids and chemicals. Silicon Bronze was originally developed for the chemical industry but later expanded due to its good casting characteristics.

Applications

Silicon bronze offers added strength in conjunction with the self-lubricity of silicon for excellent bearing and load properties. This is especially useful when silicon bronze is used for bearing cages, raceways and spacers specifically for the aerospace industry.

AMS 4616 Silicon Bronze

AMS 4616 is a special high strength silicon bronze; the additional iron content provides added strength in conjunction with the self-lubricity of the silicon for excellent bearing and load properties. AMS 4616 / C65620 is easily machined into ball bearing cage assemblies.

C65100 Low Silicon Bronze “B”

C65100 is an engineering alloy at least as resistant to corrosion as copper itself, but much stronger, and with good fatigue endurance. 651 Bronze is an alloy noted for itsbraze ability, strength, corrosion resistance, and electrical properties. C65100 is one of the most wieldable copper alloys. It is readily joined by all types of resistance welding. Joining by soldering or brazing is excellent. Joining by gas shielded arc welding and spot welding is also excellent, and by oxyacetylene welding, good.

C65100 Bronze hull and deck fastenings are the standard materials with yacht designers and the majority of builders of stock power boats. The alloy is also used for cable connectors, mast tangs, deck and pilot house hardware and equipment, welded fuel and water tanks for pleasure and commercial crafts. It is also one of the best copper alloys for pole line hardware.

C65100 nails are also widely used in boat construction and for nailing slate, heavy tile, and other materials where strength and corrosion resistance are essential.

Electrical Conductivity
The electrical conductivity depends on chemical composition, the level of cold deformation and the grain size. A high level of deformation as well as a small grain size decrease the conductivity.

Corrosion Resistance :-
Copper is resistant to: Natural and industrial atmospheres as well as maritime air, drinking and service water (if the flow rate is not excessive), non-oxidizing acids, alkaline solutions and neutral saline solutions.
Copper is not resistant to: Ammonia, halogenide, cyanide and hydrogen sulphide solutions and atmospheres, oxidizing acids and sea water (especially at high flow rates).

C12000 DLP Copper

Cu-DLP is a deoxidized, oxygen-free copper with a low residual phosphorus content. Itcombines very good formability and joining properties. The conductivity is reduced, yethigher than for Cu-DHP and Cu-HCP due to the low phosphorus content.Fields of application are components for electrical engineering, the production of pipes,roofing, wall cladding and apparatus engineering.

The major uses of pure, unalloyed copper are based on its high electrical and thermal conductivity as well its good corrosion resistance. Oxygen free coppers are used in applications requiring high conductivity and exceptional ductility.

C89835 Bismuth Tin Bronze

“Lead Free”C89835 is a “Lead Free” alternative for C93200 Bearing Bronze. When an application requires the properties of C932 Bearing Bronze but needs to be “lead free”, C89835 Bismuth Tin Bronze can be used. C89835 Bismuth Tin Bronze utilizes Bismuth as a Lead replacement. Bismuth and Lead both have relatively low solubility in copper alloys. As such, during casting, these elements solidify into low melt point pools through the alloy matrix, filling porosity voids and providing advantages for chip breakage during machining.
